As mandated in the Rules 1989 of Environment (Protection) Act 1986, IMHANS has constituted an institutional biosafety committee (BT/IKBP/636/2022) as per the guidelines of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. IBSC facilitates the research involving recombinant-DNA (rDNA) materials, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and living modified organisms (LMOs) and implements biosafety procedures to ensure safety to the users as well as to the environment.
